TYPOGRAPHY -FACE -assignment 2

TYPOGRAPHY OF '' ALEXANDRA STAN'' 

Just a brief about her , shes a singer and a model.  she sings romanian music. and got famous for her hit track '' mr.saxobeat '' followed by get back ASAP, one in a million and lemonade. 

so as i decided to pick her as my typography face i chose to write a few lines of her songs , aswell as mention these songs in it . 

This is her actual portrait photo that i chose to work with . 

i decided to deal with negative space . so i chose to do the interesting part on these picture as my main concentration. which is her hairstyle.  neck shadow , and her dress.

and the method i applied is using pen tool and warping . 

i have some of the screen shots of my work above.

just to show the processes and progress.

 basically you first make a copy of the background and then command and backspace to make a layer with a colour filled in , could be white , black or bray. i picked black. 

you can then move the layer beneath the background copy . and my a new layer and click on the pen tool draw the area where you want to type the fonts. thereafter rasterize the layer and command T to free transform , resize it then right click pick warp and create curves wherever necessary. 

 and continue until your done .

after that since we don't wish to have 100s of text layers , just merge them all by selecting all the layers and right click.  therefore you will have one background layer , fill , background copy and text layers. you can then press ALT and move the layer in between the two . and you will have a final product.

X3 waterfall- scenery - beauty ! - week 10

This beautiful waterfall scenery caught my eye and couldnt stop myself from using it for one of my work. 

so its very clear, as you see in the first picture where theres only one waterfall. so i decided to utilize the  area around it and create the same waterfall but having the effect of 3 waterfalls . 

 i used the cloning tool here, also free transform for resizing. 

 firstly i chose the area i want to be cloned by holding down the option key on mac (alt on pc)  and started cloning in into an area. after doing so, i cloned out the areas in didnt require and hence came up with the beautiful X3 WATERFALL :)

SELFIE - tracing , blending mode ! week-9

I must say , i enjoyed my cartoonistic portrait! truly an awesome feeling . 

So i used the very common tracing method with several layers and adding some of the facial features like moles , darker  eye lashes.  also additional of things like necklace ,  black hand glove with a bracelet and a ring.  different colour top with certain pattern. and also the colours of the hair and lips.

I  used the pen tool by choosing the path which helped in picking different colours and blending it and coming out with this beautiful lady :p

black and white Dalmatians - week8

so for my today's post im going to just use the displacement method, blending mode and masking .

basically i took a portrait of myself and decide to dalmatianized myself ! 

so here's what you do , choose the portrait and displace it  by saving it to disp file. then open the original photo and copy paste the texture on it. rescale it and click on filter and go to distort and hit displace you will have a folder that has your displacement file select it and you will see the difference. dont forget to blend in by multiply or screen whichever suits the best! 

TypoGRAPHY ART : TEXT AND WARPING - WEEK 7

TEXT AND WARPING.

Ill share how to insert text and warp it accordingly on any picture .

 basically you will be given some portrait with text  , simply use the pen tool to  type out the words on the line after doing so right click one the text layer and rasterize it.  after doing so press command T and   right click to warp it in order to give the curves . 

and continue the same throughout and  hence you will have something like this. 

YOU MAN SNAKE! (TEXTURE AND DISPLACEMENT ) WEEK6

SO TODAY WE HAVE SOMETHING QUITE INTERESTING !! 

I learnt some new tricks on how to change different skin and have an original feeling to it. 

basically we start with this portrait below. 

and the snake pattern underneath.

 i will share some tricks from what i learnt during this session.

so the trick is , open the image you want to use and save it as a displacement file , simply by changing the name and adding disp. and when you are done.  this is a black and white image which helps in shifting black and white colors accordingly. 

then select the snake picture and copy it to the portrait image . scale it accordingly then blend it by hitting multiply to have the best effect. when your done doing so , go to filter and select distort and pick on the displacement and hence it will adjust according to the curves of the face.  and simply and like always if you want to get rid of something just  do the masking and erase the unwanted part , you can always lower or higher the opacity as well .

 creativity shall never leave my side, so i decided to change the colour of the eyes and give a whitish glowing eyes .  simply press on command U and the hue bar appears and you can have your eye colour changed . 

hence, you man snake! 

i wont make this long , as the steps are the same .  from what i learnt the principle stays the same the only thing changes is the pictures that you use. for instance the second example the flag can be pasted on the silk material in the same way .

there you go ! and you can also change the sizes by free transform . 

CARTOONISTA and TEXTURE !!! - week5

THINKING HOW TO ''CARTOONIFY'' YOURSELF ?
PHOTOSHOP MAKES IT ALL POSSIBLE !!!!

TADAAA! yes you can create it too.. 

This will help  in tracing out pictures. 

simply make  a new layer , and select a pen tool.  and start tracing out the curves and lines on the photo.  

things to note:  while using the pen tool select the path which will help in adding the colour as per desired. also that you can change the opacity to lighten or darker the area.  or even to draw more accurately.  this can also be done by using a tablet (bamboo or intuous or any other)  or even simply a mouse)

you can continue doing this till you complete the whole portrait.  you can also add effects like weird looking hair , different shirt pattern , extra features like a mole on the face . 

after doing so , we can create a background. again it can be any color any pattern.

i chose this black , red and white .

its easy , just create a new one with around 1200 pixels by 1200.  and you have your blank document and use the selection tool just to make an equal selection choose the width and height of a certain pixel to have a uniform selection throughout . and pick a colour of your choice and complete it .

after doing so go to filter select polar cordinate ! yes and you will have your back ground! 

TEXTURE 

this was fun , i had total fun making this texture i know it makes no sense but it was fun! 

 yes thats my texture!  some body cell nuclear something something with glass pieces ! i can go on. . . .

anyway , this is very simple. . .

just go to file hit new and set a smaller image size. 

pick your colour and click on filter and pick render you get a certain effect after doing so click on filter again and choose filter gallery and create more effects of your choice and come up with awesome texture and have fun!! 

Sp0000ky NNNiiighttt! scary noises ends up in a bright sunset ! :) week4

SP000KKYY night!
so im back again , and i have something quite interesting that i have learnt from my week 4 class!
and i will be sharing it here. so below you see a few pictures which includes the ghost bride , the house and the dark night .
i will use these pictures to make ''a ghost bride flying off into the dark night from a haunted house ! ''

so firstly you have to open the dark night and the house photo  on photoshop . use the similar process 

select all and copy paste it and resize it .  and by using a polygonal tool select the part you require.
and donot forget to mask it!
next thing is blending technique. blending the background colour into the house by the selecting the image that is supposed to be changed. then click on the image on the top go to adjustments and hit match colour , another tiny option screen appears. by selecting the source which is the background and the layer should be the background and you see the blending , however you can fade or color intensity it. and there you go you have the ghost house ready !

now you need to put the ghost bride to touch up. so all you have to do is copy and paste the ghost bride photo. resize  it according to the size you want by command T on mac. so a tiny trick we could use to get rid of the black instead of masking it is pick on a blending mode pick multiply and hit on screen and you will be able to get rid of the black colour. and also adjust the opacity by lowering it accordingly .
 however the glowing effect would make it look much better. simply create a new layer and pick the gradient tool to radial and pick white to black therefore get rid of the black by selecting screen  which gives the glowing effect and resize it or even change the position of it.

TRY IT OUT

same methods shall be used in this second one too.  also depending on how create you want to be :) 

this basically the same house on a different background. and creating more of a silhouette effect adding shadows and ripples . :)

FIRE BURNING FIRE BURNING ! - WEEK3

SELECTION AND MASKING !

hello ! yes what do we have here ?
fire + hair = awesome ness !
 okay okay
 so today we have something interesting on my blog.
its the girl with fire hair ! as you see in my before and after photo.

basically , you have to open 2 photos , a picture with fire flames and a girl photo.
and then you have to  select the fire photo and copy paste it on the girls photo. as we do that we notice that the fire photo is too big , so we edit transform it to an appropriate size.


thereafter , you go to blending mode and change the color. you can try a few  like screen or multiply .
as you blend in color you get an appropriate one for the picture.


when we finish doing so , we add layer mask.  and layer mask has a principle which is white colour reveals and black hides! and you can change it by
                                                                             pressing x and y on the keyboard.
 

                                                                            and you brush out the unwanted part .
                                                                          and hence you have fire burning !!! awwyeaaaa

clone in , clone out and  perspective

clone in

cloning is basically adding or copying the same object into the same image or the other by using the clone tool .

simply click on the clone tool which is on the left side of the screen along with the other tools.

then choose a spot on the image where you would like to clone .  press the right click and the option key this will select the area . and finally clone it in on the other area and you will have exactly the same object but different place .


clone in example :

as you see thats on the first picture theres only a girl lying down on the walkway while on the second image we triplets and the stick man drawn by chalk is disappeared. 

clone out 

this is basically fading away the unwanted things on an image or  hiding it . 

this can be done by the same process as mentioned on the above . 

we could also adjust to the hardness or softness of the tool in order to get the desired image .

as we see in the image above , the flower petals which are shown on the first  picture have been clonned out on the second.




                                                         perspective 
when  we want to create duplicates of an object on an image.  but to give it a realistic  effect with all the perspective.
we can simply go to filter  then select vanishing point . the image will be transformed in to a new page
 and you will a blue line . simply select points that cover the object you want to duplicate and red line will appear.   after doing so,  click on the selection tool  and select the object that you want to duplicate while you hold on the option key and the shift key on your keyboard which helps to place and lock in a suitable position .

and finallyyyy you have your new image !

as you can see the bridge appears to be longer in the second image . 

CLASS doodless weeeeee!

so thats a before and after picture of a squirrel .
this is a cloning in step.  where in the first picture you can see one squirrel  and in the second picture TADAAAA! we have a family! papa, mama and babies !
 yess , its very easy and simple to do this. simply use the clone tool and hold down the option key on mac and click the spot you want to clone and  find a spot where you want to clone in. and yessss ! im sure you can see it.

now how do we resize this. simply click on the free transform tool and resize it to your preferences.

 PERSPECTIVE
wohoo!  so here we have one cabin of a train and the second picture has triplets of this one train!

so how do you get this ?
just go to  filter and click vanishing point , you can see another screen appears with different options . yes , now just select partial part of the train from the end to the front ( side ).  blue lines appear . after this use the selection tool and select the part you want to duplicate and hold down to option and shift key in order to place and lock the picture in a   perspective .

CLONE OUT ! 

This technique helps in removal of unwanted stuff from a picture.  

from the picture above , in the first picture you see theres text on the surface . however we want to get rid of it.  

and yes we have on the second picture, 

 the question is HOW?

basically use the clone tool again and pick  a clear spot and start cloning out .  you can also do this in a lower opacity in order to have a soft and clear clone out .

Lets Begin ! week 1

finally my thirst of learning photoshop came to an  end when i realised i had to take it as part of my degree program.

the first week just blew my mind away  when we learnt a few things ! 

so very briefly ill share what i understood .

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 

a few tips that one should know before using photoshop.: 

*always reset ur workspace by going on the windows button choosing workspace and reset. 

*secondly there are 2 ways of opening a file :

a) press open and pick a file 

b)  drag the photo to the photoshop icon 

* [ ] bracket key is for enlargement 

*  command + z (for mac users)   is undo

so i learnt to use a few tools  such as  the selection tool and the move selection tool . 

this tool actually helps to select and move them to another position or also to another photo. 

 so how to paste one photo on another ? 

open the image that u need to use for the background 

paste the second image  after pasting it scale the image accordingly . 

simply click on edit and pick free transform which will be useful  for the resizing . 

 since you want to be very precise about your placement of the second picture.   we can also use the opacity  tool which shows transparency hence enables one to do good placement.

after the image is place we can delete the unwanted part by using 2 tools 

which is eraser and  the lasso tool .

finally we have a finished image that we want to place, but to add '' REALISM " effect there are a few things which we could add. 

such as the REFLECTION  - make a new layer by drag and drop .  click on edit and select free transform and get the reflection effect .  crop the unwanted part if needed.  

we can also make the water  rippled by clicking on filter choosing distort and selecting ripple .
